It turns out that the only mishap with my luggage was that my nail polish had leaked in a baggie, which was easy enough to clean up. I repacked everything and headed to Ypsilanti.
CCP was home, and I got to spend about a half hour with her and her two beautiful dogs. It was nice to see the orange leaves and fox squirrels. Had they been squirrels that I had rehabilitated all those years ago, or even their children? I visited the bunnies graves, and marveled at the change in the back yard.
Next stop was Arborland, but apparently I had my information mixed up. I was supposed to meet at the hotel room prior to going to Briarwood. I raced across town, encountering a dense rainstorm. I pulled off my shoes and ran through the parking lot of the mall. It was nice splashing through puddles.
It was so nice to see my dearest Air-enne. And Jen and Connie were there, and her sister and other wonderful people that I had seen on line but never met. I got my toes attended to while I did some catching up.
We went to the hotel afterward, and I finally got to meet the elusive Frang sans flaming hair. He and his family were charming. And it was nice to see her family again.
I met my mother and CCP at the check-out lane at Target, and followed them to Kerrytown for a late lunch. They took me to an all vegan restaurant, The Lunch Room. It was so nice to be able to order anything off of the menu, and even try what others had ordered. I felt like I belonged. And the company was wonderful.
I fed the meter and then met up at the reception venue. I kept running into people I knew on the way, which was a wonderful thing. I rarely see anyone I know when out and about in Boca.
The rehearsal went smoothly, and was fun to watch. We went to Argerios afterward for dinner and musical chairs. I ended up at a table that was mostly vegetarian. But I was still stuffed from lunch, so I just ordered drinks, and tasted Jen's tomato sauce.
Air-enne and her Frang looked so sweet together. I am so happy that they had found each other.
I went to the restroom, and when I left, everyone was gone. I caught up with Air-enne in the rain, and got the correct phone number. On the way to the car the cold hit me. It froze my body, and I had to work hard to will myself to get to the car. Once there I cranked the heat and put on the seat warmers. I couldnt do anything for what seemed like 15 minutes. Finally I warmed up, and as I continued to warm, I finished the toast I had been writing. My theory is that since I had gotten both hypothermia and a light case of frostbite in the past, that my bodies memory makes me more susceptible to the cold.
I went to a store by my sisters to get libations to share. It was late by the time I arrived. Part of that being my desire to find the place on my own. I could have sworn it was off of another street. Finally I gave up and pulled out my cel phone with navigation.
We had a wonderfully sisterly talk that included catching up, aspirations and disapointments. Sadly I did not have the chance to see her husband, as he was out ubering. She even had a heated blanket for the bed. We both took sleeping pills and made it to bed in the wee hours of the morn.
