So I just got back from dropping off my sister and her boyfriend/fiance, Franko, at the airport. They're flying to Indiana for the weekend to catch Franko's brother's wedding. It should be an interesting trip. Franko's mom is hard core religious whereas Franko and Val aren't as much. I guess the mother resents Franko for "living in sin" with Val and not being the perfect choir boy that his brother is. My impression is that the mother absolutely adores the brother and Franko is constantly ignored and forgotten. I bet they play it off as accidents but you can never be too sure when zealots are on the war path and their beliefs are on the line. Ohh the stories they'll have for us when they return.
While they're gone, I'm house-sitting in their brand new house! I'll be able to relax and get away from my folks for a couple days and maybe catch up on some much-deserved sleep. Not that my folks are horrible to be around, but I kinda feel guilty sometimes when I'm here and they're doing their projects and I'm not involving myself in what their up to. But then again, I don't like gardening or wood-work projects, so I couldn't involve myself without feeling like it were a chore. It'll be a good chance to watch some serious cable TV for the first time since I was at college over a year ago. Ooohhh, the Sci-Fi channel, how I have missed thee.
What else. Ohh yes, I was horribly disappointed to hear that one of my last remaining high school friends who still writes me will be returning to college tomorrow and I didn't get a chance to see her before she left. Every time Crystal is in town, we try to get together but it seems like we either forget or time evaporates. I've been horribly busy and tired lately with work and it's only going to get worse as the office move planned for next week approaches. Ugh. What I wouldn't give to hit the Newberg Drive-In right now. I could use the break.
