I have taken to dusting each picture individually beforehand in hopes of reducing the dust somewhat. :(

Do they... do that? It's a cheap scanner that came with my mom's computer when she bought it. I feel like nowadays it's usually cheaper to just buy new printers and scanners when they break. They don't seem to be things you FIX.

i don't even know :S but yeah...it probably would be more than just the cost of a new one anyway :S (i'm suprised yours was a freebie kind, since you tend to get good quality pics out of it ^^)

Good quality minus the embedded dust. :P

Mine is the second of the same scanner I've had (both free, the old one is on top of my closet). It's tiny and kind of crap, but it mostly does the job, if a bit slowly. How I would love a really good scanner...
