It's Teh Kitty's Birthday
Four years ago my parents, though I suspect my mum more then my dad, decided a kitten would be my graduation present.
Have you ever had one of those signs? Freya came with one of those. Mom kept leading me around all the cages. She was DETERMINED to have a male, silver tiger. What she really wanted was a cat to replace teh beloved Jake, who was run over the Christmas before. An absolutely lovable lap cat. HAHA! Unfortunately by saying it was my present, meant I got final say!
It was down to two female kittens that were oh so cute. Freya caught my attention, then come to find from the foster woman they were with that they had been born May 1st!! Beltaine!
HAHA! I about changed my mind though! Even then she HATED to be held! She had very sharp claws XD They hurt, and she was determined to embed them as deeply into my shoulder as she could on her climb up my shirt. She was also very very loud.
Today, she's still doesn't like to be picked up, though she puts up with it more then she used to. She's still very loud, very obnoxious (Leia and Jake are/were considerably more quiet) and I think she's hitting senility a little early sometimes. Still as persistent as she was. She will stare at me for an hour or more if she must in the morning, to get me to feed her when her bowl is empty.
Mom doesn't care for her much. She's generally not the people cat that Leia is and Jake was, so she's not particularly affectionate with anyone but me unless I'm gone for an extended period of time. When I am home, she's generally making sure she makes it as difficult for me to move as possible by stretching out right up against my leg, like she is now.
She actually turned out to be rather sweet, and is the perfect match for me. She puts up well with my annoying her constantly, and I put up with her annoying me right back. The schizophrenic pain-in-the-arse that she is. ^.^
So if you can't tell, this cat is my baby, haha! I can't even leave the house without hunting her down to give her a pet and tell her to be good! XD
