Yukimura sat on his bed, contemplating whether it would be a good idea to go find Niou, since the boy was obviously avoiding him.
After quite a bit of contemplation, he decided to do it, mostly because he was feeling a little stir crazy from being confined to his room.
Walking out into the hallway, he thought a minute on where Niou's room was, since that was where Niou was most likely to be at the moment. Remembering where, he headed off in that direction.
Niou saw the approaching figure as he slipped out of his room. It would have been easy to duck back in, lock the door, and escape via the window. But then again, it was getting tiring, the endless cat-and-mouse chase to make him return to training. Niou was not a mouse.
He locked the door and waited for Yukimura to come to him.
Seeing Niou standing outside his door waiting for him, he walked over to him.
"Niou, do you have a moment," He not so much asked but demanded politely.
No greeting? Niou wouldn't bother with one, either. But in the interests of diplomacy, he shrugged and said, "You have a minute."
Yukimura sighed wearily, he was actually pretty sick, so he needed to return to his room and warm up soon anyway.
"Why don't you wish to come to training?" He asked, short and to the point.
Niou looked away. "It's not my nature to want to wake up before breakfast is served and participate in your Spartan exercise regimes just so I can sweat, feel like I'm dying, and then be slapped and shouted at., you know."
"If I let you off the morning laps?" Yukimura asked.
"It's not the laps," Niou sighed, wishing Yukimura would just get off his case. "Oh, maybe it is. But not really. Forget it, I just don't want to go."
Yukimura looked Niou in the eyes.
"I won't leave you alone until you give me at least one good reason you wont do the training," he said determinedly. Even if it took awhile, Niou seemed to need some sort of guidance, and if he could provide the boy with it, then Yukimura would certainly do him best to do so.
Niou gave Yukimura his customary smirk that seemed to indicate inside jokes and limericks and dastardly schemes. "Likewise. I want a reason why I should even go."
Yukimura was about to respond when a coughing fit arose and he was unable to speak. Holding one hand over his mouth, he wrapped the other around himself to conserve heat, which he was loosing fast. Shivering, and coughing, he sunk to the ground, leaning against the wall.
Niou was struck with a sudden panic. It was ridiculous, but he was reminded of the first time Yukimura'd collapsed. He didn't want to think about that. It was over, but sometimes his mind forgot.
"Do you need the infirmary? Should I call a nurse or Sanada but oh, that's the same thing. Do you want water? Or a blanket?" Niou babbled, putting a hand to Yukimura's forehead.
Yukimura was still too busy coughing to respond. Feeling a cool hand on his forehead, he pushed into the hand, because his forehead felt like it was burning.
Ohshit. Niou hurriedly unlocked the door to his room and got Yukimura water and Taki's velvet jacket, which he normally found quite comforting. He gave Yukimura the water.
"Sorry to make you come out when you're sick." He mumbled.
Drinking the cool water, Yukimura looked at Niou, having finally finished his coughing fit.
"It was my own choice," He said firmly, feeling a bit woozy from his earlier fit.
"Guess I can take back the sorry, then." Niou smirked, almost embarassed at having acted so motherly. He draped Taki's jacket over Yukimura.
Pulling the jacket closer around him, Yukimura shivered.
"I suppose we should continue this conversation when I am completely better. It wouldn't do for me to collapse again." He said, standing up slowly, as to not make himself dizzy.
Niou was quiet for a while. Then he offered his arm out to Yukimura for support. "Fine," He said grumpily. "I'll tell you, but only because you're sickly and I feel bad for you. I don't want to go to training because I don't want to see Sanada."
"Sanada?" Yukimura asked confusedly, "What's wrong with seeing Sanada?"
The comment about sickliness was annoying, but if it got him answers, then he would ignore it for the time being.
Niou swallowed. "Uh." He tried. "It's awkward between us. But please don't ask him about it."
Yukimura sighed. It really was time for him to go back to his room, since he was feeling rather dizzy and very tired. Leaning carefully on Niou's arm, he decided that, since he hadn't been able to get completely clear answers today, he would have to do it some other time. He wasn't giving up, he was just....tired. Letting go of Niou's arm, Yukimura swayed, but still stayed upright. Bidding the other boy goodbye, he returned to his room to sleep, and hopefully to talk to Sanada when he woke up.
