This is the best story line and best chemistry on American TV in ages!

Isn't it great, Shadow!?!

I'm going to have to qualify in my agreement to your statement - best chemistry on regular cable. I do have a fondness for the Jax and Tara pairing on "Sons of Anarchy". The actors playing that couple portray intimacy very well. Probably one of my favourite television straight couples of all time.

What did you think of Reid saying that they were just going to have sex? Doesn't seem that word gets thrown around too often on soaps. As I mentioned to Cat below, I wonder if ATWT is going for broke. What's going to be their punishment if they push the envelope? I say Go For It! :D

I do agree with your clarification -- network TV's best chemistry.

I hope Reid's line doesn't lead to sex never happening. It was a huge step.

robin, i cannot believe that CBS is brave enough to run this...hooray for them! even five years ago, i would have been shocked hearing the word 'hell' on a soap. i was a soaper in the 60s and 70s...they have come a long way since then. it's unbelievable.

jeannie,

as mentioned in my other replies, i wonder if ATWT even cares if they offend anyone any more. there's really no worse punishment than being canceled. i think they should run with this storyline and whatever else that makes for good viewing.

i remember the days of clean talk. i use to be startled and giggle when i started hearing 'bitch' and 'hell' and other curse words. sometimes, using such language lends realism to dialogue. in germany, i think they swear worse. the soap i watch from there sometimes has the f'word in the translation.

i was surprised when the good doctor today said the word 'sex'! that was refreshing!
hugs,
robin

Oh Cat!! I really encourage you, as time allows, to catch-up with Luke and Reid's story. You might have to start back when Luke brought Dr. Oliver to town to try to repair the damage causing Noah's blindness, because I think you'd enjoy getting to know Dr. Oliver. In a way, he reminds me of Brian Kinney - strong, brilliant, snarky, vulnerable. I didn't love Brian at first, nor did I Dr. Oliver, but like Brian, the good doctor has stolen my heart. The actor playing him acts so well opposite Van. Their budding passion is so different than when Luke and Noah started out. And, with the word 'sex' spoken out loud in today's episode, I'm beginning to wonder if ATWT is just going for broke. It's done in September. They really have no one to answer to except the fans that have stuck to them.

I hope you'll give Luke and Reid a try. I think you'll enjoy the ride. Vid clip of all their scenes today:

Hehehe! Watching the vid again. Keep an eye out for the good Doctor buttoning up Luke's shirt. It's subtle and the camera doesn't pan back far enough, but it's there and it's a sweet gesture. :)

I agree, Jane. Wonderful chemistry reminiscent of a few other favourite onscreen couples.

It's taken awhile for the storyline to get past Luke mooning over his boyfriend/ex-boyfriend/boyfriend again, but it's been worth the journey. These actors are creating a compelling couple to watch. If you need help finding where to start, let me know. I'm very eager. LOL!
