Alternative Universe (or rather, pre-incarnation) story taking place in the early 2010s on Earth in New York City. Spock is a deacon in the Roman Catholic Church. Jim Kirk is the genius-level offender that drifts into his life. At 10k words and counting (although only chapter 1 posted so far), this is a love story.

Oh, MAN! This was amaaazing! I really enjoyed this flashback into their very first meeting - I loooved that Spock not only helped Jim but took him home, listened to him. The "I don't dump bodies" line was awesome!

I also really liked that moment between them in the morning... and YAY! for Pike coming over for the prodigal son!

Really wonderful second chapter, guys, looved it.

Yay, I'm so glad! :) We are operating on two story lines, the present day and the backstory. We are going back to the present-day line for chapter 3. The backstory will be picked up from Kirk's POV around chap 7.

Hehe, I liked their first meeting. The last line makes me immensely curious about what Kirk's father could have done in this AU to distinguish himself in Pike's eyes. Looking forward to the next update. :-)

P.S.: I share Kirk's opinion about skim milk. :X

I think we mentioned somewhere in Chap. 1 that Pike used to be an Army chaplain and served with George Kirk. George Kirk was (posthumously) awarded the Silver Star, the third highest military decoration, for extraordinary heroism in combat (think some current-day equivalent for USS Kelvin.)

This Kirk is pretty close to XI!Iowa!Kirk. Think bar brawls and small-time infractions with the law (like vandalism or something). I mean sure, you see him here all cleaned up and great with kids (later chapters) and everything, but that's due to Pike giving him The Talk (again as in XI) and Spock giving him....um...yeah.......

....you know...it's really kind of....wrong to look at your icon while reading this comment....I mean, Kirk is looking so very innocent here.

Anyway, I'm glad you are excited. It's still going to be (increasing) UST until chapter 8 or so though. :)
