The Move
It's been a very long time since I've made any kind of post on here, but I'll try and do a short update none-the-less.
As you know, I have recently moved. I guess I finally got tired of hearing how dad hated my place and wanted me to move. Well, he somehow convinced me to put in my 30 day notice which required me to frantically find a new place before I was left homeless. Needless to say, the criteria of my new place was a bit higher standard than my last (or at least if dad had say in it :).
The place I ended up moving to is in San Pedro. It is about 10 miles north of my last place, but still about as close to the beach as previous. It is a one bedroom, one bath, ~865sq ft condo. It's on the third floor of a 179 unit complex that is gated and secure. The complex includes a pool and spa, and I also have assigned parking. I'll try to get some pictures in soon, since the family seems to want some. I think it's a pretty decent sized place... and I enjoy the amenities it has... including a dish washer, central air and heat, and a washer and drier.
The neighborhood seems nice. All the neighbors have said hi to me, or introduced themselves. Everything I need or use is within a 5 block radius to my house, except for my gym. So grocery shopping, pet supplies, banks, and more, is all within short distance to me. The guest parking is also ample and guests no longer have problems in visiting me.
My landlady/owner knows I have a bird, but she doesn't know I have 3 birds and a rabbit. So, currently, the rabbit is out on the porch, and the birds are inside until I can rehome them (well, except Dixie).
As of now, I am unpacking. Even though I've been in the place almost 2 1/2 weeks, the first week everything was in boxes because the painting hadn't been done yet. After the painting was complete, I just didn't have the time. This past weekend I finally got a bit of stuff unpacked. I'm going through a lot of stuff right now and donating/selling/ throwing it away while I still have it all packed up and handy. Time to purge I guess. :) I have too much stuff (which became a realization when I had to pack it and move it all!!).
