Although I do wish it'd given me the option to drop certain things off the list entirely. I have no interest in babyfic or A/B/O or coffeeshop/high school AUs and so on--there's nothing underneath "Sex Pollen" that I'd actually be that interested in writing. Ok, maybe time travel selfcest because Five/Eight/Ten getting it on would be hot, but...
...and it probably says everything about what that dead German bastard has done to me when INCEST IS AT THE TOP OF THE FUCKING LIST. Thanks, Torsten, thanks. And obvy, since Royalty/Arranged Marriage is the canonical starting point for Jaffar/Princess, it's near the top. It's not something I'd be that interested in writing as an AU because it's one of those things that's taking everything too far away from what actually interests me in canon in most of my fandoms. Not that it wouldn't be possible and that it couldn't be done well, but... yeah. And I have no idea how vampires and werewolves got so near the top because I'm not that interested in them either (I blame Anne Rice for putting me off vampires forever. Unless they're Hammer ones. I am losing so many goth cred points for that, I know). Karmic time warp? Not interested. Espionage AU? Nah. Unrequited pining? That's what I want to *save* Jaffar from, dear Lord; I don't want to write fic that twists the knife in the poor panther's heart. Role reversal AU? Well, I still have Roses 7 to write where ze Pwinzezz gets a penis, so that'll be... interesting.
P.S. If "Rivalmancy" isn't the most misleading and inadequate way of describing FoeYay, I don't know what is. They aren't necessarily always rivals, so WTF. And it's not rivalry I'm that interested in writing anyway? That implies a social position and competition, and I'm far more interested in the positions they take on the bed, TBH :P
