Also, I really had no idea people did watch fanvids on Ao3. I've had a really surprising amount of hits on the fanvids I've posted there.
Million Dollar Man has 200 hits by now! Which is far more than what it got on Tumblr.
Although,
the post with links to the explicit Devilry 3 trailers?
500 hits and not a single comment.
Is this a thing? Fap-and-run or something? How come people are keen to leave comments if it's porny fic, but not video? (Especially since this is Devilry we're talking about, and each fic has over 100 comments, more than anything else I've ever written?) Is it too dirty or something? *scratches head* Because I'd really love to talk about what went into the vids as much as I do with the fic, TBH. Or is it because Ao3 only allows embedding from a few trusted sites and you have to click to go elsewhere to watch the things? I mean, it's not like Tumblr--where I've hosted the videos so far (thank fuck they haven't been taken down yet) is all that great for commenting and discussion.
But still. Come on, fandom. Admit to your fappage.
P.S. Speaking of surprise hits,
The Parting of Petals is now my most-read ToB fic. o_O And I can't think of anything in that fic that'd set it apart from the others apart from the femslash/lesbian orgy/lesbian anal and fisting elements. And NOBODY EVER READS FEMSLASH. So this baffles me more than anything. What the hell? Seriously, femslash usually means being doomed to complete obscurity? o_O Or is it because it's more bisexual and polyamorous than just 100% lesbian per se? I really do wish there was something you could track referrals with on Ao3 because it really does intrigue me as to which tags people find the stuff through. I'm just itching to find out, seriously. Especially when it's something as mysterious as this!
