Not that I'm actually writing that porn or anything, ahem, but do you guys know if there's a list of *good* historical fiction sex terms anywhere? We all know those compilations of the most terrifying euphemisms ever and it's quite good fun, but has anyone actually combined a list of stuff that works? I know it's terribly subjective and even fanfic writers have differing opinions on what to call genitalia (especially female genitalia--thanks, patriarchy!) and so on. But is there a compilation anywhere of terms that are considered... less laughable than others? 'cos all I can find are those "lol, these terms are bad" lists. People go on about those, but why haven't they actually listed the stuff that works for them? Or do those pages exist and where can I find them?
I mean, I actually know some medieval Persian terms but it's a different thing entirely whether they'll translate to a modern audience. "He thrust his kebab skewer into her gazelle rump" or "his nightingale hovered at her rose" or "his needle threaded her pearl" would be a *bit* iffy...
