Pick five of your favourite shows, in no particular order, before you read the questions below, then answer them!

1. Blake's 7
2. Doctor Who
3. Farscape
4. Life on Mars
5. The Mighty Boosh

01. Who's your favourite character in 2?

The Doctor! Since he's the one that carries the show and everything. I love him muchly. When he isn't being a dick, that is. He's an endlessly fascinating and mysterious character, even more so in the old series. He's funny and solves things with his brains and he's an alien and doesn't quite get these humans sometimes. Again, more so in the older series, but still.

02. Who's your least favourite character in 1?

Errrrrrrrrr, Jarvik. Macho misogynistic caveman Marty Stu preaching about the superiority of men and supposedly making even *Servalan* simper at his feet because of it? In a show that's got more strong female characters than even most modern shows? What the fucking shit? Someone should've sacked Ben Steed before he ever set foot in the BBC.

03. What's your favourite episode of 4?

Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, god, it's impossible to decide. I love the first and last ones and and and the wifeswap one and the second-to-last one and and and oh god, IDK, it's always good. I hardly dislike any episodes and even the ones I'm not that big on are fairly entertaining telly and have some great character moments.

04. What's your favourite season of 5?

The second one, probably. I think that's what hooked me, in the end. The third is definitely the weakest.

05. What is your favourite ship in 3?

Chiana/me. Next question.

06. What is your antiship in 2?

Is an antiship something you shouldn't ship but can't help shipping anyway? Or something you loathe? In the case of the latter, Doctor/companion, most of the time. Especially in the new series, where it's gone completely out of hand. Who's at its best when the shipping is done very sparingly, IMHO. Yes, even Doctor/Master. And look, Two and Jamie are touching each other *all the time*, what more do you need?

07. How long have you watched 1?

Since around 2001 or 2002, I can't remember exactly.

08. How did you become interested in 3?

Goddamn B7 fans pimped it to me. astrogirl2, I'm looking at you. And I finally caved.

09. Who's your favourite actor/actress in 4?

Do you even have to ask? Simmyboy, because without his ability to make emotions achingly real, the whole show wouldn't work as well as it does.

10. Which do you prefer: Show 1, 2 or 5?

Errr, I like them for various reasons and they all have their good and bad sides.

11. Which show have you seen more episodes of, 1 or 3?

I've seen all of both, but Farscape has more episodes in total.

12. If you could be anyone from 4, who would you be?

Phyllis, probably.

13. How would you kill off your favourite character in 1?

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA.

14. Give a random quote from 1?

"It just occurred to me that as the description of a highly sophisticated technological achievement, "Avon's gadget works" seems to lack a certain style."

15. Which character from 5 would be a good guest star on 2?

I seriously want Howard and Vince as Time Lords. Ok, so I want lots of comedy duos as classic Holmesian duos, preferably Time Lords on Gallifrey and bein' useless, but it'd be hilarious. I want a Boosh/Who crossover so badly. Look, it'd beat Hale and Pace.

16. Would a 3/4 crossover work?

Errrrrrrrrrr, that's a bit of a stretch, I must admit.

17. Pair 2 characters in 1 that would make an unlikely but strangely okay couple.

I can't imagine anyone in B7 who *hasn't* been shipped with everyone else, really. I hope Bercol and Rontane are a couple. I think spacefall has shipped them at least?

18. Has 5 inspired you in any way?

Probably, when it comes to idiotic humour. I come fully equipped with a papoose.

19. Overall, which show has a better cast, 2 or 4?

Errr, everyone's been on Who, so it's had its share of crappier actors. LoM, less so. Almost everyone is really good, especially the main cast (although I'd pay good money for someone to teach Liz White some elocution lessons; her thhhick-thongued lithp gets on my nerves).

20. Which has better theme music, 3 or 5?

Speaking of sounds that get on my nerves, the Boosh theme is slightly kinder to my ears (the Farscape ululation just makes me nervous, even though I know they were deliberately going for something alien and unusual). But Boosh... eh, it isn't that special a theme. Who totally beats them all, really. Although I wouldn't ever watch a TV show without watching the end and the beginning credits all the way, even if I didn't like the music. It's a *thing* and I start pretty much flailing if I'm watching stuff with someone else and they skip the credits. Argh! It's... something that eases me into the fictional world and eases me out of it, so the experience feels incomplete without those two things bookending the trip, you know? Plus, I often want to check cast and crew stuff in the end credits, so I always stay in the cinema until the very end.
