Argh! I was already pissed off with the stupid fucking slideshow thing on
Doctor Who's Tragical History Tour... and guess what? They've taken it off, but replaced the fucking thing with *another* script. One of those fucking annoying hover galleries. Far too much clicking to save the damn images. And as if parts of the site weren't always down all the bloody time anyway, getting rid of the individual HTML pages for each image is just... er... going to do what? Exactly. It's going to make people hotlink to the image files themselves because there's no other fucking option. Which means just more downtime when the hotlinking hogs the bandwidth at record speeds. ARRRRGH.
Yes, I sent 'em feedback. I hope other people will do, too. It just works against that resource principle they say they're so bloody proud of when people can't even link to the bloody images properly (and yes, I mean individual pages instead of hotlinking). As if it wasn't hard enough to hunt for the pics when that fucking slideshow kept skipping forwards before they'd even fully loaded. *Headdesk* You'd think the biggest Who image site on the net would be a wee bit more sensible about the browsing. I can see the script, on the surface, looking like it's making things easier, but in the long term, it really just complicates things more.
