I saw this poster of the Master looking uncharacteristically... soft and wistful in a way. It really is an unusual picture. It looks like he's in love, ffs! Not that I'm complaining. So, in my mind, I explained that as the Doctor's vision of the Master, how he would want him to be, how he sometimes does see him. And how it really should be an image of the Master he wants to cling to, and then I remembered 45eugenia's Hologram!Master pic (NSFW) and nastally's gorgeous hologram fic... yeah. It's definitely a hologram image the Doctor made. Because deep down inside, he just wants the Master to look at him like that. Trufax.

It's totally worksafe, despite the implications...
