What Teen!Grouse was doing when everyone else was listening to bloody grunge

Well, checking out Yorkshire lads and Simm!Raskolnikov reminding me of Nick Holmes, ficcing about serial killers (AS IIII DIIIIE) and quoting from the book the band took their name from eventually led me on a nostalgia splurge of Paradise Lost videos and mp3s...

...they've started to kick arse again, it seems. That's one fucking grim video right there. If that'd been in a movie ten years ago, the Finnish censors would've cut it for a video release. That's impressive, since I fell into massive apathy over Believe In Nothing and the lyrics becoming crap and even more ungrammatical. Which is a shame.

I YouTubed the vid for As I Die and it's even crappier than I remembered. But the song, omfg. I was headbanging so hard I have a headache now. Have become fourteen again. Oops.

And True Belief is still one of those songs that stopped me from topping myself at that age. I still know all the lyrics by heart. "I can see no good in taking your own life when any moment death calls." It's the bleeding obvious but it works...

NICK HOLMES IS STILL JESUS. God, I'm remembering the PL gigs I saw now, they were fucking awesome at Tavastia...

muzak, general nostalgia, heviä perkele
