For several years, I have been wanting to relearn the clarinet. I played it throughout high school, and I was fairly good at it. Playing the clarinet was often my stress reliever.
A couple of months ago, we found a used clarinet at a thrift store. We took it to the local music store to have the repairman look it over and give us an estimate on what needed fixing, if anything.
We got it back today, he replaced one of the corks, but recommended a full pad replacement. At this point, we figure it'd probably be best to look into a new clarinet. Since I will be wanting to play for quite some time, we're looking into an intermediate clarinet rather than the plastic student type.
We saw a gorgeous rosewood clarinet with silver plated keys, and will be keeping that in mind when we go clarinet shopping. I'm really excited and looking forward to playing again. Also, I found out there's an orchestra here that plays in the park every summer, and anyone can join. XD
