Okay, this is just insane. I was in church and outside we heard this huge bang and the power flickered. So, nobody really thinks much of it and we finish the service. I walk home with my brothers and there, in the snow on our lawn is tire tracks. Our mailbox is about three feet shorter, the transformer box on the edge of our yard was knocked askew and there was a dent in our neighbor's house. A car had hit gone up on the curb, hit our mailbox, drove across our lawn, knocked the transformer out of whack, ripped out a rose bush, and hit our neighbor's house. No joke.
We later found out (from a different neighbor) that it was some kid. The neighbors that told us this had just been leaving for an appointment, but they figured the kid didn't call the police (which he hadn't) so they came back after they finished their appointment. But it was seriously cool. We got out of church and got there just as the power company pulled up to see about the transformer, since there was no power on our entire block and the guy called the police. The cops came out and they had a CSI guy come because the kid had picked the mailbox up and put what was left of it in the hole it had come out of. The kid had also dropped a pair of glasses and a couple pieces of his car. But I just had to post about it because it was so weird. I'm just glad it happened when we were in church. When people get out of our service, they walk right down the sidewalk where the car came up over, we have neighbors that cut through our yard to get home, and kids on our street that play in our yard, so if it had happened right when we got out of church or yesterday or Friday when the kids were playing in the yard, it could've been a serious tragedy and not just a minor inconveinence because our power was out and they had to rip up our lilac bush...
