ahh had a look at it online. Look pretty good, But it doesnt look like it can compare to:

http://www.xone.co.uk/3d.htm.

Had a play with one at a music shop a while ago connected to live, and that thing rocks. but you could buy a car for that price... its just under 5k

also just realised from looking at the connections on the back, that it only has a midi out. which means if you want to connect it to your computer to control somthing like live, you will need atleast a midi interface (USB or firewire). and if you do that you might aswell get an audio interface with a midi i/o, so that way you can at least record high fidelity output from external souces (you mixer, effects, synths vynil decks etc.)

i wasn't refering to doing "live" but using "live" as in "ableton live".
You cant connect it to your computer with out the interface. There is no USB port on it or interface built in. hence you can only use the Midi to control ableton live, but not with out an interface.
Luckinly if you wanted to bring it around at some stage, i do have an audio and midi interface.
So if you end up buying it and do want to use it with ableton, you'll need an interface. Theres many cheap ($300) to expensive ($3000) options to choose from.

i dontthink so... ill look at it more when i get it.. but i dont think they would say you could use it with ableton when u had to buy something else that 300 to 3000 bucks.... just seems a little stupid

no, i know so. Live is controlled through MIDI CC messages. the only way youre going to get a MIDI message to you computer is through and audio/midi interface. Anyone buying a mixer like this will/should already know this. if you dont beleive me, make sure you ask ( ... )

the tweakheaz site is really good. The guy who writes it is a music production teacher and has heaps of industry experience. His "lessons" on the site are really consice and dont expect you to know it all. you can cross reference between subjects on the site, and is with out doubt the most helpfull tool on the internet i have ever come across for this topic

"u had to buy something else that 300 to 3000 bucks.... just seems a little stupid" I was just thinking about your analogy, and it doesnt seem stupid at all that you need somthing else to use other stuff ( ... )
