AFTER LOVE
(chapter 01)
Chapter 1
It has been two years since JunSu broke up with YooChun. He couldn’t tell that he was over it, but the most important thing was he knew he could control his feeling of missing YooChun’s touch.
JunSu lived happily in his new apartment. He rented his home to his cousin named JaeJoong who just came from home from studying abroad and needed a place to stay with his boyfriend, Jung YunHo. The couple helped JunSu to take care of the house while JunSu wasn’t there.
JunSu also got himself a new job as an elementary teacher. He resigned from his previous job as Park YooChun’s personal secretary without YooChun’s knowledge.
JunSu was happy with his ordinary life. After his past love, he finally found someone he could lean on. Her name was TaeYeon, Kim TaeYeon. JunSu couldn’t really let himself into a relationship after what YooChun had done to him though the girl was good enough to receive a chance from JunSu. JunSu himself was surprised that he could at least find TaeYeon attractive enough. He had stamped himself as gay though he never felt any interest in making such relationship with another guy. Not-unless that guy was YooChun.
“Oppa…what are you thinking about? You’re spacing out! Your food will be cold before you know it…” TaeYeon snapped JunSu out of his daydreaming. JunSu and TaeYeon were having their breakfast in JunSu’s office. This was a routine that they always do.
Suddenly, TaeYeon’s lips formed a pout, “I know that my cooking isn’t better than JaeJoong oppa’s, but at least…I know that it doesn’t taste that bad…” she said sadly while digging on her omelet.
JunSu chuckled lightly, “I was in awe with the food, TaeYeonnie… it’s tasty and makes me want some more!” he praised TaeYeon’s food while pinching her chubby face.
“Hurts..Oppa!! My cheek is hurt…” TaeYeon whined. JunSu then caressed her cheek softly.
“Sorry,”
TaeYeon shook her head, “It’s good to see Oppa’s smile!” she said cheerfully as she clapped her hands. “Let’s hurry, Oppa…! The class is going to start!”
JunSu nodded and quickly finished his breakfast. TaeYeon cleaned the mess afterwards and bid farewell to JunSu before she headed to the class she teaches. JunSu himself, made his preparations to meet the students in his class.
“Good morning, Seonsaengnim…”
He heard his students greet him happily as he came into the classroom.
“Morning, Class!” he replied brightly. As JunSu put his books on the teacher’s desk, a boy suddenly rushed into the class without his permission. “You!” he called the boy. “Ah! ChanHee-yah! You’re always late! What happened this time?”
The boy smiled innocently, “I met a girl who fell from her bike this morning, Seonsaengnim,” he started his story, “I felt guilty since I saw her but didn’t help her, so I ended up helping her and sending her to the nearest hospital,” he ended the story and looked up to see his teacher’s reaction.
JunSu smiled and walked closer to the boy. He patted the boy’s shoulder and said, “Nice Story” ChanHee sighed in relief. His teacher believed in his lies. “But meet me after school. We’ll have fun talking about the girl,” JunSu stated, pushing the dumbfounded boy back to his seat.
He started to teach the lesson afterwards. His students liked the way JunSu teaches since he always taught them by adding some examples so the students would better understand the entire lesson. He would slip in some jokes too, so his students wouldn’t feel bored and be more interested in the subject which is biology.
Two hours passed and he decided to dismiss the class. The students were disappointed since they felt as if the class had ended faster than they expected.
JunSu bid goodbye then walked out his class after reminding ChanHee to meet him after school ended.
JunSu walked back to his office and found his lover sat on his seat. “You’re fast, TaeYeonnie,” he greeted while ruffling TaeYeon’s hair.
“You messed my hair, Oppa!” she whined, and pushed JunSu’s hand away. Then, she stood up and poked JunSu’s nose, “ChanHee was late again, wasn’t he?”
JunSu smiled as he flicked TaeYeon’s forehead, “Did you see him?”
“Yes, he was smoking in the bathroom. What did he say, Oppa?”
JunSu sighed, that ChanHee was surely a troublemaker. “Some heroic stories as usual,” JunSu sat on his seat. “TaeYeon, could you help me find Park ChanHee’s file? I need to call his parents today. I’d love to meet them after school.”
TaeYeon smiled and said, “Well, I have to meet Mrs. Shim then! See ya, JunSu oppa!” and she went out of the office.
JunSu rubbed his temple. He was thinking of ChanHee. That boy was really good and well mannered. ChanHee was his favorite student before he started his fifth grade. He started smoking, drinking and even lying! That was too much for a fifth grader. He wondered what happened to the boy.
“Mr. Kim…”
A voice called him, he quickly looked at the door and there was Mrs. Choi standing. “Mrs. Choi?”
“ChanHee told me that he has to see you after school, but I doubt that he will make it. He is running a fever and I’m going to send him home,” Mrs. Choi-the school nurse explained.
JunSu opened his mouth in shock. He didn’t know if he was going to believe it or not. It might be lies that ChanHee made up for excuses to not see JunSu. “Can I see him, Mrs. Choi?” asked JunSu.
Mrs. Choi nodded, “Follow me, Sir..”
Then the two walked through the corridor to the school clinic. There, JunSu saw ChanHee’s weak body laying on the mattress. His face looked pale. He put his palm on ChanHee’s warm forehead.
“Did you not go back home again, ChanHee?”
ChanHee sighed, he didn’t answer, didn’t even bother to look at JunSu. He closed his eyes. He knew that his teacher knew about his night life. ChanHee would stay on his friend’s bar, drinking there til late at night. He was only drinking grape juice since his friend’s parents kept a close eye at ChanHee. He would sleep there afterwards or if he was lucky, he would find himself in JunSu’s apartment. He refused to talk about his problems when JunSu asked him.
“Mr. Choi, I’ll take him to my apartment,” JunSu concluded.
“No!” ChanHee refused, opening his eyes in bewilderment, “Let me stay here,” he pleaded.
“Well, he’ll stay here, take a rest then after school, I’ll have his parents…”
“They won’t come,” ChanHee cut. That was true. His father was too busy with his work while his mother wouldn’t even care about him. His mother and his father were going to divorce anyway.
JunSu sighed seeing his student act. “I’ll be with him, Mrs. Choi. I have no class after lunch,”
Mrs. Choi nodded she left the two in the silent room.
“Thank you, Seonsaengnim,” ChanHee thanked his teacher before sinking to the blanket.
JunSu smiled, his hand caressed the boy’s raven black hair. “Do rest, ChanHee,” he ordered.
