General feeling of loserness and low self esteemness and self absorbedness and of course the guilt that accompanies whenever I think about anything that has nothing to do with my son.
I feel guilty whenever I do something that isn't productive - i.e. doesn't contribute to purposes of self-improvement, making someone I like happy, or enhance my future prospects.
As for you, you are more than entitled to have your own life as well as be a great mother. Everyone needs to find a balance.
Perhaps a good thing to think of is a natural inventor. I have a friend who is always thinking of ways to get rich quick. Businesses he can start, namely. But great ideas don't always come about if you devote enough time trying to come up with something original and brilliant. They just happen. And often, they occur during or after we've been doing something else that we enjoy or which we have to do.
Anyway, that probably wasn't the best of examples, but the point is, I'm sure that you're doing above and beyond what a good mother should without thinking about Leith every waking minute. =)
