a new leaf
This is yet another entry that begins: It's been a while...
It's been a while since I've posted anything. Currently I'm in a kind of limbo.
In an inspired moment, I packed up my life in Eugene and headed north. In some ways, my current situation is similar to an ill-fated attempt to move to southern made about 10 years ago (I got "stuck" in San Jose). Aiming for Portland, I'm temporarily re-orienting my bearings in my hometown of Monmouth.
While stuck is certainly stuck, my life in Eugene was wasn't going anywhere. At Work my motivation was tanking and the environment was turning toxic. Some of that poison from my work was spilling over in other areas of my life, and starting to color my experiences there as well. I recall one Saturday afternoon talking with
river_rain44 and coming to realize that I no longer wanted to make the effort to be a part of the Eugene scene. The place is just too wretched.
On the plus side, I've become fast friends with this adorable pooch, Lola, who is a beagle/lab mix (and looks like a dwarf Lab). I'll post a photo as soon as I upgrade my account.
