I don't suppose anyone has an idea why a cat would suddenly take an interest in tea when he never has before? Honestly, I though he was over this juvenile kitten behavior...

[pentaps]

Edgeworth, I'm very sorry, but there's been a minor tragedy at home.

not amused, someone call pest control, cats what are they good for, teacup tragedy, family affairs, exasperation much, charming domesticity

[Lucky this is a written journal as he's mildly horrified, but since you're a woman, Kazahana, he'll be moderating his response.]

A... tragedy?

[Yes, there literally are dots there, where he tapped his pen a LITTLE TOO HARD.]

[Like she can't translate Restrained Edgeworth to Average Person by now.]

I'm afraid KC took quite an interest in your tea stock.

[Dot. Another dot, a bit deeper into the page this time. And a slight ink splodge.]

All of it?

Not all. But quite a bit. I'm very sorry.

I see.

[Loooong pause.]

May I ask how a cat successfully negotiated a kitchen cupboard and a wooden box?

[Yes that AND is rather forcefully EMBOSSED. Because :|]

You could ask, but I honestly don't know. I came home and it was scattered about.

[a brief pause]

When you have a chance to come home and take a look at the scene, please give me a list of what was damaged.

Are you certain there was no one else in the house?

[He strongly suspects human carelessness in this scenario, Kazahana. And when it comes to human carelessness, his mind inevitably turns to Kiba. But he's too polite to suggest that your boyfriend has been dipping into his tea collection in the mornings.]

And unless you have some previously undisclosed method for changing the nature of the Wilderness at will, a list will be of little use.

[If you sense SOME IRRITATION THERE you would be right. Because yes, Justice seeks out tea from the more civilised Wildernesses whenever he can. He has had an impressive collection in that box, neatly filed and labelled to correspond with the notebook in which he compiles brief comments on each blend along with optimum brewing times. OBVIOUSLY.]

[As if THAT was ever in doubt. he does actually file his tea in canon, you know, I am not making this shit up completely XD]

Not when I came home. I don't know about the rest of the day.

[It could have been Kiba, but she's observed cats long enough not to trust that any place is safe from them.]

It's not all [pause] ruined--not everything was completely spilled. If you don't mind that some of the packaging has been chewed on, there will be considerably more to save.

I'm very sorry.

[Justice is not unused to feline antics now either, having had to deal with inheriting Truth and Medium's cats since they disappeared. One too many mysteriously vanishing socks has taught him that no drawer or wardrobe is secure, for a start. Especially when Timcampi was around to add to the mix.

There is another long pause before he answers because he is a) attempting to remember to be reasonable, and b) applying the WWTD? (What Would Truth Do? rule]

If he had the grace to cease chewing once he reached the tea, then I suppose I should be grateful for small mercies.

Your apology is unnecessary.

[It's not a bad rule, but there are times when Truth would flail and make a fool of himself. Don't do what he would do then.]

More likely he got bored.

No, it's not. He's my cat; I should have trained him better. I take full responsibility.
