Round 2, 'the eye of the flood'

The current Mayor of Moorhead came in to give a speech today along with the president of my school. It was real sweet he was pretty much crying when he told us that the whole city would have gone under without our school. Proportionally, he said that we had more students out there than any other college.

He then promptly stated that during the second crest which is expected to hit sometime mid- April, they are going to put a giant dike down 8th street. Eighth street also happens to be a county highway which goes right past my school. We are on the river side.

The mayor basically just told us "good job guys! now you're f*cked!"

My dorm is actually the ONLY thing thing that is going to be safe. Living 10 minutes away from campus finally pays off!!!!

My friends houses were looted while we were gone. That was just awesome! (sarcasm). We are supposed to be prepared to evacuate again at any given moment. We also are on a water conservation order, if it gets bad again the water will be off. The awesomeness of this flood is just great. The projected level for the 2nd crest just went down by a foot, which is really good news, then the weatherman started laughing as he said that if we don't have any wind everything will be fine. That's just mean! We don't have any hills, trees or buildings here to block it.

It still looks like a war zone even though they are pretending that everything is fine, this is essentially 'the eye of the flood'. Haha, silly Fargo!

...still enjoying life. Despite all of the crazy, weird and sad this brings, it is actually kind of exciting. On a lighter note: I will be home again on Thursday!!!! this time no one can call me a refugee, I'll just be home for easter!
