Yep, I shaved it off. :/
I have to get my uniform back on for CAP. This is an USAF style uniform and when I put that on, the USAF grooming standards are strictly enforced. It's simply respect for the uniform. There is an alternate CAP uniform, but I don't have it and I don't like it. The USAF uniform looks much spiffier anyway.
The beard grew on me (pun totally intended) and I started to get used to it. One thing I learned is that it takes about 2 weeks to completely grow in. I also need to keep it rather short (2 on my clippers). If I let it grow longer the hair curls around and start poking at my skin making it feel like a metal brush resting on my face--not comfy. Hair conditioner definitely helps keep it softer. I did get several compliments on it too after it filled in.
I'm sure it will be back, but it will be awhile. I know better how to grow it now for the next time. Feels downright freaky to rub face now and not feel hair there. My face actually feels really small now. :)
