So, I watched 60 Minutes this evening as they had a story on the Duke Lacrosse rape allegations. I was quite surprised as to their findings so far. It casts a a lot of doubt on how D.A. Nifong has been running this case.
First, of all, I'm very surprised to hear that the DA has not interviewed any of the players that were charged. They appear to have a lot of evidence that proves their innocence, but the DA does not want to hear any of it.
The comments from the victim's friend who was there (Kim?) refutes a lot of what her friend says happened. At the same time Kim is being sort of sly on camera. It almost feels like she's been bought out or something. She kept stating that "I don't recall that" instead of saying, "That is not true". It's just odd.
Regardless, it just looks like this whole case is riddled with all sorts of holes consisting of errors, incompetence and lies. Still puzzled as to why we're hearing this from 60 Minutes instead of the local media. There are a lot of unanswered questions. From the beginning when the accusations came out I told myself that these men had better be unmistakably guilty or the DA risks really making himself out to be an ass and dividing the community.
