ugh. saw a really nice flat earlier, but the owner wanted £1050 deposit instead of £575, because of the cats. despite having no carpets and only a sofa and a bed, which couldn't have gotten ruined, plus they go outside to pee and poo. even when they didn't go outside, and the carpets in my flat a few years ago got pee on them, it didn't even cost much over and above my deposit to fix it.
i completely understand why people would want extra deposit for pets, i probably would myself if i was a landlord, but there was really NOTHING in this flat they could have ruined even if they were house cats. gahhh.
