Silence and darkness are not the demise of man, they are the demise of menaing and goals. No progression, no achievement, but silence and darkness possess the special qualities of nothingness. As it is written in Volumes of Japanese elements, "the void" is in itself an element and thus should be treated as having special form, an exception to an exeption. Also silence and darkness provide a person with proper protection among his goals. One may accomplish much in dark and silence by only emerging in the light of day when all others do refuse to gaze apon them. I take the LCN as my example. La Costra Notra in the 1920's through the '40s or so, ran successful organizations simple because the government refused to accept their existence as fact. And thus the void, darkness and silence consumed their ignorance and freed their minds from the obscurity of organized crime into an oh so clear realization of lucid reality. Silence and darkness are also where one can use what they have encountered in the world of light and noise and comprehend and process it. Meditation, floating, thinking are all more successful in dark silence. However the light is a neccesity. Unlike a Western thinker who would advocate only one, we from the East must promote the harmonious balance achieved through the undeniable connection of the light and the dark. As well as the connection everything possesses with eachother. Dwelling in the void is condonable barring you see the fire and earth and wind and water. The harmonious balance possessed by existence is never truelly disturbed, but in the minds of humans (esspecially Western ones, but not you so much) promotion of causes and opinions do cause a false insecurity and chaos. Slaughter and rape and so forth are but inventions of the mind and should be treated as such. Our rule and codes seem asthough we must maitain equilibrium at all times, but if we did not exist it would not disturb the balance in any way. Our actions have no bearing on the balance, because we could destroy the universe, but there in front of us would be the void starring back at us.
