Home from college she remembers
All those nights she sat and cried
She goes to bed late at night
And can't recall a lullaby
She remembers the shouts through her bedroom wall
The fear she felt is all she recalls
When she was a girl fifteen years ago
All alone, crying in bed, gripping her pillow
These four walls heard a little girl crying
These four walls saw innocence dying
These four walls smelled the blood from her wrists
These four walls felt the rage of his fists
These four walls tasted the salt of tears
These four walls she was trapped in, all those years
Home from college she remembers
That horrible memory on her bed
He was so strong, she was so weak
And her innocence was shed
She remembers crying, fifteen years old
Feeling alone searching for someone to hold
She found herself a few dates later
Alone in the house, and her boyfriend raped her
These four walls heard a little girl crying
These four walls saw innocence dying
These four walls smelled the blood from her wrists
These four walls felt the rage of his fists
These four walls tasted the salt of tears
These four walls she was trapped in, all those years
Home from college she remembers
The terror she felt those years past
She's all grown up, she's self assured
But now she's home, its hard to last
But she's come to far to be beat down
And she's fought to much to be thrown to the ground
She's battled and conquered, she can go on
She's not the same girl, but this is her song..
