Good morning!
Last night was fun. It was Moonlight Madness in Montpelier, which I guess is an annual event where all the stores stay open really late and offer a minimum of 20% off storewide. Whitney & I were excited to try out stores we can't usually afford. We went to get some food and wine at Positive Pi, and it was of course, fantastic. There was the cutest waiter I've ever seen there, I swear, I kept staring, & Whitney was like, "He's not that cute, his sideburns are too long." But sadly, we did not have him. Then we went to Salaam, where I got a cute basic kelly green tee and this other tee-shirt that says "La Sirena" on it with a picture of a Siren (c'mon, I teach Latin. How could I not?). Sadly, we did not find me any handbags there, which was the main goal of this exodus since I've been sorely in need of a new, decent-sized one since my summer one died (all the linings of the pockets totally blew out). We went to Damsels, and I got
these for $15!!! And Whitney found me the most amazing Chinese Laundry handbag on sale!!! I can't find a pic, sadly.
We also went to Onion River Sports (for her) to look, & I chatted with Greg for awhile, which was fun. After that, we wanted to get a drink or two, but refused to go to Julio's for like the third time in a week, and we checked Charlie-Os but it was a really scary biker crowd, and after much pondering, ended up back at Positive Pi. We ended up having the cute waiter! Whitney was all, "He's actually pretty cute; you should do something!" But I reminded her that I am the single most awkward and uncomfortable flirter ever. Let me tell you, I have officially met my match with this guy! He was so cute, kept coming over to talk with us and was clearly really nervous and uncomfortable, but I loved it. He somewhat indicated that he'd stay for the dance party when his shift was over if I was staying, but a) no guy should see me dance until we're engaged. Seriously, it's that scary. and b) Whitney was leaving to meet Erich and I didn't want to stay there alone and looking lame. We got the check just as Erich was pulling up, & Whitney was like, "Leave your number on the check!!!" which is super lame and usually I'd never do, but he seemed pretty clearly interested and I was a little tipsy and I figured we'd just bolt outside to meet Erich & I wouldn't have to like, react. But of course Whitney ran over to make out with Erich & left her purse so I had to stay and the waiter came and totally looked at it and saw it & then looked at me and smiled & was like, "Thank you very much, I'll see you around." So now I'm kind of nervous. That whole leaving-the-number thing has never really worked for me before, but I figure meh, what do I have to lose? He sure won't call if I don't leave it, right?
