So this week we have extended advisorys so that the seniors can practice their Grad Challenge presentations, which means that I have a huge 30 minute chunk of nothingness in the middle of the morning. =( The upside to this is that tomorrow is a half day followed by inservice (& I'm not going) and then Friday is Grad Challenge day (& I'm not going). So that's cool; it's almost half the regular workweek for me (although three days with an extra fifteen minutes almost rounds me back up, come to think of it). Granted, I'm working at the cafe like 4 or 5 [vaguely defined] nights this week.

I worked Friday and Saturday night. Saturday they let me take one table...which turned into two. Then after those tables were cleared and filled again, they kept me (which Mich says is a good sign). I worked my ass off & got $200 in tips...which I didn't get to keep because I'm still "training" so it gets divied up between all the other waitstaff. Fuck. I hope I start getting actually paid this week, 'cause man is it lame to bust your ass and work long hours for nothing. Especially considering that I had to buy my apron and book, and then all those clothes, and then after a week they tell me my shoes aren't acceptable, so I got new shoes that I can't return and now I have to buy another pair. Still on no money. If I didn't know for a fact that the money would be really good once it actually starts coming in, there's no way I'd put up with all this.

It's crazy how exhausted I am all the time. I mean, I'm not even working full shifts at either job, and I know that there are people who work way harder or way more (I mean, Friday I think I worked something like 11 hours total). I think it's just the combo of like, working really early, then having a few hours in the middle, and then working late. That plus the allergies and the allergy medicine making me exhausted. But I still feel kind of pathetic about feeling so wiped out when I know there are people working one fulltime job and then waitressing, or who have 15 hour days, or do manual labour or something. Oh well, only a month of this doubling and then I'll be fine. Although I strongly suspect I'll have to get another day job for the summer if I'm going to make it financially.

My portfolio is due Wed. and I haven't done it. I don't know what to say about that.

My brother wants me to drive him down to Boston this weekend. I have no idea if or how I'm going to do that. I am the worst driver ever & I've never done a drive longer than 1 hour. Let alone left the state. Or been on the interstate longer than 30 minutes or so! *gulp* Besides which, my "check engine" light is on and I have to take the car in tomorrow. I guess I'll decide after that.

Ick, tomorrow is going to suck so hard. I have to teach from 7:30-8:15, then book it the 35 minutes downtown to get my Depo shot, then book it back in time for Block 2 at 10:15. Then I have to teach Block 2, drive the 30 minutes to Essex, pick up my tires, then go to the car place in Jericho for 1:30, have the tires changed and the engine looked at, then go 30 minutes back to my house. Eat, change, drink coffee, and get to the cafe (30 minute drive) for 4:00.

Blarg.
