Oh my gosh, it was such a nice weekend!!! (albeit way too short--I keep telling myself "five weeks left, five weeks left...") The weather was gorgeous, I got to go running both days, and of course my allergies were going nuts (and still are). I think it's pretty close to being a fair trade, though, all sniffling and itchy head holes included.

Saturday I was so productive. I don't know what's wrong with me; I think this year has made me physically incapable of sleeping late anymore. I can't sleep past 7:00 and that's really sleeping in as far as I'm concerned! Anyway, I got a ton of grading done, did housework, went for a run, and then lazed about a bit before going to Essex. I saw, "The Return of Zorro" or whatever with my sister. Oh my God was that the worst movie ever. Do not see that. Seriously, I beg of you. Don't waste the money & the precious two hours of your life. Yesterday I did more of the same & then went to Winooski to help my parents do yardwork for my grandmother. Then we all hung out with my aunt, uncle, and cousin (and three beagles) who live across the street from my grandmother. Went back to Essex, had dinner, watched last week's "Gilmore Girls" and then went home, where I proceeded to make most of a test for my little brats.

So I got that job at the fancy-schmancy French restaurant. I start Wednesday. On the one hand, I'm really stoked, because I desperately need the money & the summer job. Also, it works well as far as there won't be any overlap with my work here. But the next five weeks are really going to suck, because I'll be here from 7:00-12:00 (minimum; if I have to stay, I'm here 'til 3:15), then my shifts at the restaurant are 4:00-midnight. By the time I get home it will be 12:30, and I have to get up for work at 5:30. Yeah. Even better is the fact that I don't get paid 'til I start actually performing up to snuff, so essentially the whole first week I'll be doing that for free. Plus, I have to buy my own clothes & she wants them to "look expensive." I've been "studying" this weekend, because I have to memorize a 400+ item wine list, as well as an extensive menu, dessert menu, and drink menu (apparently someone ordered a $420 bottle of wine there last week). I'm getting nervous about how much I'm going to screw up at first. I mean, they know I have no experience, but at the same time, she's a crazy strict French lady & I've heard how much she has a tendency to bark. She was telling me at the interview about all the people she's fired because they "didn't work out." Yipes! Michelle was telling me how awesome it is to have this as a summer job, though, because you have all morning and afternoon to do fun outdoor stuff & then you don't work 'til 4:00. But I suppose, since she's married and all, she doesn't take into account that most of the fun summer stuff goes on at night, outside. Downtown. On the weekends. Still, it's not as though I had a raging social life anyway, so what do I care? I'm more excited that it gives me the possibility of getting another job in the mornings.

Ugh, speaking of jobs. I need to do a day-by-day countdown of how long I have left here. Or an hour by hour one. I can't wait to be done teaching. I hate this.

Ooooh, hey! I finally found my Blue Merle CD! It was shoved behind Pat Benetar! Of all the silly places to be...!
