Lady Tamarind is sitting at her writing desk. Her pocket watch is on the table beside her, a recent habit that she has taken to. She finished writing her list of questions some time ago, and is now waiting patiently. Occasionally, she traces a finger over her scar.

Judas the crocodile is curled up in the door to his room.

At the knock, Lady Tamarind glances at her pocket watch, closes it, and tucks it into the folds of her dress. Rising from her seat, she opens the door and nods to the woman behind it.

She indicates the chair on the other side of the writing desk with her hand and takes her seat behind it again, looking as imposing as someone who can't quite manage to do their own hair properly can.

"You have your references with you, I assume,--"

She realizes that she doesn't actually know her visitor's name, and it probably wouldn't be appropriate to call her "girl".

*takes a seat, and isn't intimidated by very many people at all, but at least is on her best behaviour*

Karla. Of Glacia. *and even refrains from saying 'Kiss kiss'!*

And I don't have any references, but I can easily call for one if you want.

Call for one?

I must have them one way or the other, so that will do.

*contacts Jaenelle via mindspeech and asks for her to write something as a reference*

She'll probably take a few minutes to write it, but... *laughs as it appears on the desk* Quicker than I expected. There you are, from the Queen of Ebon Askavi.

*slightly under her breath* Of course, it would appear out of the blue, just like she did.

She's a former employer?

Ongoing. Not that I exactly have a hefty workload.

Will that cause problems?

*a slight smile, not enough to crack her powder*

I suspect that we're already sharing one employee, so another won't hurt anything. Are you her lady-in-waiting?

You could say that. I serve her, and that's the important thing.

--is not quite sure about that, but overlooks it--

As long as there are no scheduling conflicts, it will be fine.

*she looks at her list*

I am looking for someone to take care of the small details that I am not used to doing for myself, such as sorting my mail, opening the door and fetching refreshments for guests, helping me with the more difficult of my dresses, and keeping my rooms neat. I am naturally tidy, so that won't be too much of an issue. Back on my world, my ladies-in-waiting lived in adjoining rooms, but I realize that this world is different, so I would only summon you when there was need.

Also..*she gestures a bit helplessly to her hair*

*eyes her hair, as had rather noticed it wasn't exactly pristine* What do you usually do with it?

It was the fashion in the court to wear a powdered wig, but my crocodile mistook mine for a cat and ate it.

Well, you don't need to follow the fashions because there aren't any here - Vampires and demons don't count - so why not do something a bit different?

*contemplates her honey-blonde hair for a moment*

Anything presentable is fine, as long as it's powdered and off my face. *she's been slightly irritated at not being monochrome for the last few days*

*is good at monochrome*

Why don't you cut it short? That way it'd be more managable, and it can look great if you have the bone structure for it.

-horrified silence, she's had long hair since she was small!-

That wouldn't suit me at all, nor my wardrobe.
