Before going to visit Donnie, Raph headed to Haku's room. Haku had a rabbit at home, right? Maybe he'd want to meet Raph's Rabbit... Maybe he'd have some advice. Raph could use all the help he could get. He didn't want to kill the rabbit, even if he hadn't wanted a pet to begin with.
When he arrived he took pause, glancing in the room to watch Haku flail around. "Uhm... Hey? You ok in there?"
Haku glanced up in his frenzied packing and blinked. "Oh, hi Raphael. Yes, I'm fine. I just have to go home and... uhh... stop something very bad from happening," he explained quickly as he rushed around the room. Haku paused again paying more attention this time. "You have a rabbit."
Raph glanced at the bunny, then nodded to Haku. "Sure. He's kinda small and scared. I think he's pretty young, but hell, it's not like I know anythin' about rabbits..." He was careful not to unbalance the bunny as he offered it to Haku. He'd learned that rabbits did a lot of flailing when they didn't feel secure. Raph had little scratches to prove it.
He cocked his head a little as he passed the rabbit over. "You're not gonna go off and get hurt, are ya? I mean, tell me it's none of my business if I'm nosin' too much, but--" he stopped. Obviously he was curious.
Haku had to smile in spite of himself, he'd had quite a bit of experience with scared rabbits and held the rabbit gently, letting it curl into the crook of his arm while he petted it gently and coo'd slightly. "He's very sweet."
"No, I'll be fine," he smiled and assured him. "My partner at home might have gotten the wrong idea about some uh.. people around here," he admitted sheepishly. "I got a letter from him just now saying that he was on his way here to uhmmm well." Haku took a deep breath. "To uh, 'teach some people a lesson', I think was the term he used."
"I suppose so, I was really angry when he sent me here. He told me it was a ninja school; imagine my surprise when it wasn't. I thought maybe he'd sent me here to get me out of the way, and I think it might have come across in my early letters..." Haku petted the rabbit, moving to sit down on the bed with it and let the little one hop around on the bed if he wanted to.
"Zabuza's never been the kind to really care. I think he's allergic to it," he smirked.
Raph shuffled into the room a little awkwardly, glancing around, then at Haku and the bunny. "He told you it was a ninja school? Pfft... I think if I'd thought that when I came here, I'd have hated this place a lot more."
Rubbing at the back of his neck, Raph shrugged a bit. "I think I got a brother who's allergic to caring. Maybe it's a common allergy."
"Yes, he said it was a ninja school and that I was to come here and 'learn to be more useful'," Haku sighed and smiled watching the little bunny timidly come out from hiding in his lap to hop around the bed.
"I think it's a very common ninja allergy, I've known a lot of people who suffer from it; Zabuza's just the worst."
Raph shook his head. "I don't think I'd get along with this Zabuza guy." He snerked softly at even the thought. "That kinda thing would drive me nuts."
Haku smiled sweetly. "He's more than he seems. For as much as he doesn't seem to care, he does in some ways? Besides, I care enough about him to make up for that." He pet the bunny lightly and smiled brightly at it, picking it up before it could hop off the bed.
"That's good, I guess..." He wondered if Haku wasn't maybe a bit too forgiving. He didn't know anything about him or this Zabuza, though, so he wouldn't even try to judge.
"I don't think I saw your pet... What'd you get, anyway?" Raph figured a subject change wasn't a bad idea.
"Uhh.. it's over there," he said absently playing with the bunny, as he pointed at the small glass aquarium full of sticks, leaves and a small bowl of water.
Raph glanced at the aquarium, walking over to have a look. He was very tempted to tap on the glass to see if anything would move, but didn't. "...I.. don't see a damn thing... You sure it didn't get out?"
When he arrived he took pause, glancing in the room to watch Haku flail around. "Uhm... Hey? You ok in there?"

"That sounds... real nice." Raph offered, only mildly sarcastically. He wasn't intending to be mean. "At least he cares, I guess?"
