I have been absent from livejournal for quite some time. In fact it's been a year. I've realized this since I have visited the site again. Amazing how quickly time flies when you're having fun. So I figure, I'm due for an update. An overview, of the year that I've been in Virgina thus far is due.
Since I have been here I have moved out of Jessica and Chris' home. I've had my own apartment since May of this year. It's 50% more in rent than my previous apartment in Texas. And this apartment is a one bed/one bath versus the two bed/two and a half bath townhome I had. I struggled with rent a couple of times while I was in Texas. However, due to the increase of pay because of the cost of living out here and the 'traffic' that this Lowe's receives, I haven't had that issue. It was so helpful living with Jessica and Chris because I wasn't paying this outrageous rent outright. I was able to get out of credit card debt and pay off my student loan, first. When I moved out here, I initially, added more to my credit card debt. However, in a matter of months I was able to pay it off. So, as it turns out, moving out here seems worth it. I've been able to afford things that before I would normally have to push on the back burner. Like two flat screens, a new laptop, the entire Blood Plus series, and the entire Inuyasha series. Just to name a few. Though, they're finally concluding Inuyasha with an 8th season. The dubbed version hasn't been released yet. Probably won't be for another year or so. Yes, I like english dubbed versions. It's the voices I'm used to and prefer. If you want to put me down as a true anime fan...bring it! My next big purchase is going to be a new car. I'm debating a Mazda 3 or 6. Don't know which yet. Not seeing too much difference between them except size. But that won't happen for another year yet.
Speaking of another year...I have yet to decide how long I plan to stay in Virgina. When I originally moved up here, I wasn't anticipating to be here more than a couple of years at most. And as I am coming up on my year here, that decision still seems to be up in the air. Even more so, since I've met someone out here. We've been dating for nearly two months now and I'm not seeing any signs of it coming to an end anytime soon. Sure, it may still seem early yet. However, you just never know. It's so refreshing to finally meet someone who isn't interested in you just because of what you can give them. And I'm not just talking about financially. I've met my fair share of guys with one thing on their mind. He takes such good care of me. He refuses to let me pay for anything when we're together. Which is weird to me, because I'm not used to not paying for my own things. He was even a huge help when my car died. First it was the battery. Which turned out to be the result of my alternator going bad. He called places for me and got me squared away. Even calling in a favor with his step dad to change out my alternator for cheaper than other places were quoting. He's such a sweet guy. He's even told me that he considers me out of his league. I told him I don't consider myself that way at all. He then told me that's exactly what he's looking for in a girl.
I've been through some experiences here and had some fun with my best gal pals. Though, I don't hang out with nearly as much as I had hoped I would since I moved out here. It's even worse since I moved out on my own. Though, it's mostly my fault. Because between work and spending time with my guy, it's hard to pin down more time.
Let's see, I don't think there's much more I can update. Other than the fact that I'm currently fostering a cat. Equalling two felines in my home. I was hoping that he would give Kayla company during the hours I'm gone during the day/evening. His name's Matthew. He's a mix long hair. With black and white fur and pretty green eyes. He's already declawed and neutered. Making him more perfect for me. Though, he's a bit overweight, I can help change that with diet. He's also a bit sneezy. Though, my guy has done some research and we're giving him some Lysine to hopefully make him not so sneezy.
Well, that looks like that's it for now. We'll see if I get in the habit of writing here again. Only time will tell. :)
