School Website

The Aya site is growing out of hand! HAH. I’m considering calling it Liberation. Here are my basics so far:

Main sections:
About: description and quick rundown of PE games and world. Defines what the site is about.
Departure: Call to Adventure, Refusal to Call, Supernatural Aid, Crossing the First Threshold, Belly of the Whale
Initiation: The Road of Trials, Meeting with the Goddess, Woman as Temptress, Atonement with Father, Apotheosis, Ultimate Boon
Return: Refusal to Return, The Magic Flight, Rescue from Without, Crossing of the Return Threshold, Master of Two Worlds, Sharing Knowledge, Freedom to Live
Archetypes: Sage, Sidekick, Nemesis, Love Interest, Adoptive Family, Warrior, Temptress, Innocents, Nightmare Creature, Traitor, Dreamer, Fool, Rebel
Epic Triad: Aya (Hero), Eve, Ultimate Being (Villain), Mitochondria (Benign force)
Heroic Traits: magical/mysterious birth, missing/questionable childhood, identity in question, betrayal, tragic flaw, death at the hands of evil, resurrection myth, special powers
Theories: ideas and contemplations based on events that happened within the games and why they happened the way they did.
Disclaimer/References: Credits and references for the game elements and images used. Full disclaimer based on the respective copyright properties of PE’s owners.

Here’s the basic idea for the layout too.

I have to run the proposal idea by my class.
Here are the requirements:
First, you will submit a website-design proposal. After your proposal topic has been approved, you will create a full-functioning website. The website must contain a minimum of six newly created XHTML web pages (not including files, such as .css). If you use another author's work, you are also required to include a references page, which does not count toward the six-page total. Your website must be original work created during this term and cannot have been previously created for any other purpose, including pages created in previous assignments for this course. Your project can be a website designed for your workplace, nonprofit/volunteer work, or another business/organization, real or fictitious. Hopefully, the project will be something of benefit that you can take away from this course. Examples for student projects could include, but are not limited to, the following:
• a website for your department at work
• a website for your entire company
• a website for your favorite nonprofit organization
• a website for a home-based business you run

I have no idea how I’m going to make it work! But it’ll be fun to try. I also have several practice page things to do as well as a HTML practice I need to do. It’ll be good for me since CSS is so foreign. And you know, when it’s all done and class is over I’ll move the site to Pirate’s Board.

Free Writing
10:06 AM: I don’t know what I want to write. It’s not a new thing, I just when I think about it lately; I have no idea what to say. As I might have mentioned yesterday, I just don’t know. It’s not bad, not entirely. I just wish that I could sort out my writing. I feel like I spend more time doing homework than anything else, which is not completely true. I suppose, I could simply write more. But what will I write!? Ah, I do have that one photograph idea and I certainly need to work on Pure Love in Kamurocho. So it’s not like I’m without ideas merely that I feel like I’m without time. Without time! How lost I am without a moment of free space. And here I am, taking five minutes to ramble about everything that comes to mind. Perhaps I’m just not seeing what I need too. Which would not be an understatement or even a wrong assessment. Though it seems as though my focus has shifted greatly to try and see everything at once. Which is a discontenting fact since I feel so confident and assured when writing and now can’t seem to grasp it. Well, it seems as though I ought to make more time for it, more than five minutes. More than the half an hour (if I’m lucky) after I do the first part of my homework for the day. I feel discontent when I can’t write as often. And I know this term will be a difficult challenge, but it’s nothing I can’t overcome. I will triumph merely for the sake of my stubborn pride. Such a trifling matter, that pride of mine. Makes little sense even to me sometimes. Still, if it keeps me writing in the long run I suppose I can’t complain. And I wouldn’t know how to toss it aside if I had a manual to do it. So it stays and pushes me to write even when I have no idea what to say. And then I ramble. And get some ideas off my chest, some things that bother me, but I still have no idea exactly what I’m trying to say. I think that might be a story in itself. How do I say the words when I can’t even hear them? /10:11 AM

I’ve noticed my free writing isn’t doing as badly in spelling these days. Either I’m making less typos or word is changing them to what they ought to be! Makes me smile a little. And it makes me feel a little better to just ramble for five minutes a day.

Snowflakes: Life
So I’d been trying to think of what to do for a site for class. Since I just beat Parasite Eve II, Cherri suggested an Aya site. She said it wouldn’t be so bad since I love Aya. Which is true. So I got to thinking about it. And I want to make more than just an Aya site. I’d love to do an actual character study on her based on how she fits into the hero monomyth. So I was thinking about that all night as I tried to go to sleep and thankfully the ideas more or less stuck with me. (I guess because I literally thought about them until I fell asleep). That being said, it looks like the site is a lot more detailed than I had thought it was. And that makes me really happy. I also have the experience of having played the three games, so I have a lot of information I can use. And it makes me happy because I get to type/write a lot!

I got up at 6:20ish this morning because I was feeling very ill in a dream. When I woke up, the nausea began to disappear and my spinning head seemed to settle. So far, I haven’t determined what the cause of that is. I’m feeling a lot better, but I find it odd because I’ve never felt physically ill in a dream before (at least not enough to wake me up).

Started reading The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe the other day. I need to finish it up but that shouldn’t take me too long if I can actually get some free time. Hah, not that I’m lacking time completely it just feels like it.
