Women clinging on either side. Yukigumi's otokoyaku star Nozomi Fuuto is the renowned playboy, "Don Juan." How steamy will it get? The focus is on the superior "mature acting style."
"I think it's electrifying, with a bunch of adult things happening in rapid succession from the outset. It's dangerous, I'm telling you." I hide my loss of bearings as Nozomi casts a sexy sidelong glance.
Women and wine. Always seeking pleasure is the playboy, Don Juan. Through a duel he meets Maria by fate. He will change his ways. The original French musical premiered in 2004.
He's a man whose appetite cannot be satisfied. That's the impression of Nozomi's Don Juan. "As man who is hungry for love, I am looking for the middle piece of the jigsaw puzzle." Women trapped in loneliness, he makes them feel like they're not alone.
You have the confidence to play such a man? "It's really far from myself but.......if you can express how you feel inside with your eyes"
An otokoyaku for fourteen years. Two years ago she played the assassin, Lucheni in Elisabeth. Last year she gave an enthusiastic performance as the legendary gangster Al Capone. I was impressed with "Nozomi's darker roles."
"I had been focused on highlighting certain things but not so much recently. The bad parts of humans that I want out blend into the role."
At present, she's a singer. She sings carefreely from the heart and shines with her singing ability. In May, she appeared in the famous musical actor, Yoshio Inoue's, concert featuring Disney song duets. "While next to Inoue-san and listening to him sing, it was a step in the direction of controlling my voice. I want to keep working on this for the future."
Black suits Takarasiennes. But not only black. That's the charm of Nozomi.
Don Juan is directed and edited by Ikuta Hirokazu. It will run from July 2nd to the 12th in Osaka's Theatre Drama City. 06-6377-3888.
*TN: The word used was 衝撃 (shougeki) which translates to "impactful," "shocking," or "earth-shaking." Since we don't really use these words to describe womanizers per se, I decided on "electrifying" to encompass the overall feeling of being blown away.
