Let's backtrack a little here... on Saturday night, Amber, Alaina, Lindsay and I went to Bed. And wouldn't you know it, they really had beds there! It was a cute little club. One section was just a bunch of white beds, then there was the bar (caged in- boo) and the dance floor. I didn't drink because we needed a driver, but I still had fun. I even danced... wow. And got molested by strange men! Good times.
Randy was there... which I thought was weird. Since when did Randy go to clubs? Alone? On a Saturday night? Times are a changing. We also ran into Kevin Hayworth outside after the club closed. It was crazy. But then again, it'd probably be crazier if we didn't see anyone we knew.
So, I'm a barista. Today was my fourth day on the job, so I'm a regular pro (not). It's a little draining, but most jobs are. And my coworkers are all pretty cool. All in all, I like it. I get to be in my favorite store (almost) everyday... I mean who could hate that? And, not only do I get a 30% discount on books/magazines, but they allow their employees to sign out books for two weeks at a time. It's like a library... but with better books! I love it.
I was very excited when I look through the new Blender issue (with Pussycat Dolls on the cover). That T.I. photoshoot? I was there. Yeah. I also transcribed the Nelly Furtado interview they used. And some of the photos in the front section were all me baby. Even if my name isn't in the masthead, it's still exciting to know that I contributed.
Speaking of music-related news, I think all of my bands hate me. Either their tour goes through the East in the summer and the West in the fall, they're skipping over Washington or they decided that they want to postpone their tour... even though they were going to be playing in Richland! Richland is 20 minutes away! Do you understand how sad this makes me? The last real concert I went to was
At least I still have Warped Tour (if I'm not working). Even though the band list seems to get less interesting each year, I'm still looking forward to: Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Rise Against, Eighteen Visions, The Academy Is, The Living End... maybe even Gym Class Heroes and Motion City Soundtrack.
And before I end this entry... I should be getting another tattoo soon. My brother and I are getting matching tats of two stars. Mine is going to be on my left wrist. I'm excited for it.
I've also been considering getting a tattoo of Athena on my torso/down my side. It would be pretty big and pretty expensive, so if I decided to go ahead with it, it wouldn't happen for another couple years or so. I had to do a report on Athena in middle school, and ever since then I've admired her and what she stood for. And I love me some Greek gods.
