Oh that's my helm. I had better repad it.
Last night at fight practice I suited up and fought polearm for the first time. It was very difficult, and exhausting. The polearm is heavy and tricky to orchestrate. You wouldn't think swinging a pole would take so much technique.
I was smacked quite civilly by the Nameless Duke. When I went up against him, the first thing I said was, "My lord, I have no leg armor," which proved to be pointless because my head was so easy to hit, he didn't need to bother with my legs.
But I fought a lot and even got some good hits on a couple of guys. I'm going to bring the extra pell home and practice swinging the pole in the back yard. The neighbors will love that.
As we were leaving the building, we discovered one of the upstanding citizens of Fall River had set it on fire. Five fire engines and a rescue unit later, it was quickly and quietly dispatched, and we went home. I'm hoping to find out what the cops said about it tomorrow night.
I love New England.
