My Imagination is Starving to Death

Please recommend some fiction to me. I have a really hard time getting into fantasy, be advised. But I'll read good stuff that's not part of a series.

Thanks for your time.

Hiya!

I recently read (well, on audio book) Girl With a Pearl Earring- it's a bit serious, but I LOVED it, couldn't wait to finish it.

I also read a new book (which is on the bestseller at BN, which I don't normally do) called "Good Grief" by Lolly Winston. I absolutely ADORED that book. Anyone who has ever had any grief of any kind and then bounced back from it should read this book. Despite what you may/may not think about the subject matter, read it, I promise you'll love it! It's not as depressing as you may think, in fact, it's quite uplifting.

I don't normally do fantasy books, either, but there is something called "The Sevenwaters Trilogy" by Juliet Marillier, which was excellent, again, couldn't put it down. It was actually recommended to me by a customer. It's one of those where you can't wait to finish it, yet don't want it to end. And the three books are available in mass market, so they're cheap & probably available at the library. I think the first one is "Daughter of the Forest."

Other books I read & loved: The Red Tent, by Anita Diamant; I am of Irelaunde, (yes, correct spelling) by Juilene Osborne-McKnight.

I don't recommend fiction books easily or lightly. These books are GREAT!!! :)
