Okay, look. There's a rally next week, November 15th.

A thousand voices standing against something like this will only prove that this country is absolutely ready to include the LGBTA community in their actions.
I know there are people on my f-list who don't believe that gay relationships are valid, I know people who believe that marriage is between one man and one woman. And I urge you to think about it this way: I'm not asking for the right to watch my godfather marry his partner of fourteen years in your church, I'm asking for their right to marry within a state defined marriage.
Think of the number of straight people who don't get married in a church.
As a country which is meant to be built on a foundation which allows for religion to be separate from the state, in a country which is not a theocracy, we are bound to not follow the rules of the Church, but the laws of equality.
And the laws of equality speak firm to this: All men (And women, I shall add for the benefit of Mr. Jefferson) are created Equal. It's in our Declaration of Independence. One of the most important documents in our nation's history. I cannot stress how important it is to remember that the Civil Rights Movement looked a lot like this, and we must continue to persevere. We shall not lose hope.
