That would be a pretty good pairing in itself! He seems to like feisty redheads. :)
Lily (assuming you mean the original one):
1. Has to be Lily/James because we don't have a series without it, but there's also ... 2. Lily/Snape, definitely! Poor old Sev, if only he'd not been such an idiot. 3. Lily/Remus. No, I'm not saying that because you were the one who asked -- they'd probably have done well together, given that Tonks appealed to him. 4. Lily/Slughorn! Don't tell me he wasn't carrying a torch for her, that seemed obvious even before the movie came out. :) Or how about Lily/Andromeda? 5. Lily/Sirius. Because cheating on your SO with their best friend, or your best friend with their SO, is Especially Not Cool.
The Doctor:
1. Doctor/Romana. He must have spent about a century with her, for the Doctor that's impressive! And it's a much more equal pairing than most. 2. Doctor/Donna. Because their chemistry was brilliant and there were several points at which he seemed to be in the Martha or Jack role for once
( ... )
And then there's James's reaction ... On the one hand, he doesn't like the idea of her going out with anyone but him. On the other hand, at least it's not a bloke. On the gripping hand (hm, possibly an unfortunate phrase here) he thinks the two of them together is just hot and can he watch please? :)
Let's overlook the canon casualty rate for the moment. :) With Cersei, you have to keep one eye on the politics ...
1. Cersei/Bronn. Because he's both devious and dangerous enough to cope with her, despite the vast power imbalance (and the common sense imbalance). Both appreciate physical qualities in the opposite sex, neither are overburdened by sentiment. Made for each other! 2. Cersei/Prince Oberyn Martell. Now that would be a fearsome partnership. 3. Cersei/Jaime, I suppose -- it says something for how the characters have developed that he now seems like a better person than her! Cersei/Asha Greyjoy, Cersei/Mance Rayder, and Cersei/Archmaester Marwyn would all have interesting possibilities for development ... 4. Cersei/Tyrion. Keeping it in the family. Cersei/Margaery, for hate!sex fans. Cersei/Dolorous Edd, because you did say 'crack', right? 5. Hmm, haven't seen enough fanon to say. Cersei/Ned, maybe?
Well, PGW does a lot of circulating the canon couples around himself, so as long as they end up together in the end I think you're probably OK.
Madeleine/Jeeves presents intriguing possibilities - counter to the slash fandom, Jeeves persistently breaks up Wooster/MB out of jealousy because he cannot bear the thought of living so close and yet so far from his beloved Madeleine.
1. Snape/Lily! See above. I feel sorry for poor old Sev, even if he did bring it on his own head. 2. Snape/Lucius. A slash pairing I thought might actually play well with canon, which makes a change for me! 3. Snape/Tonks (largely the result of kerrymdb's stories, mind you). At a pinch, Snape/Hermione or Snape/Remus. 4. Snarry? :) Or Snape/Libatius Borage, because I've actually drabbled that. Snape/Luna can be quite fun, provided you finesse what happened in the Shack. And if we're going to do that, how about Snape/Lily Potter II?! 5. If we're sticking to the canon personalities of the characters, then Snarry, obviously (fanon versions can be OK, for some values of O and K). Otherwise, Snape/Sirius, maybe? Because no, honestly, those two really really do loathe each other.
1. Narcissa/Lucius. Can't argue with the canon here. 2. Narcissa/Blaise. Theirloveissointergenerationalandpureofblood. 3. Narcissa/Snape. Because she trusts him. 4. Narcissa/Slughorn, because he tried to collect all the Black family. Narcissa/Pansy, a consolation prize Malfoy for losing out to Asteria. Narcissa/Rowle, because she likes the blonds. 5. Narcissa/Bellatrix. Because even though there's a shortage of comparable-age characters to slash her with, this one just seems like going through the motions.
