sit right down and make me smile

Let's play catch-up, shall we?
  • New house! Not really mine, but still. Living with the parents over the summer isn't so bad when they've finally gotten around to building their Dream Home. My room is the size of some apartments, I'm sure. :)
  • New boyfriend for the past, what, three months? lol It's just now "official," though, whatever that really means. The only noticeable difference in The Relationship is that now facebook is in the know. Haven't seen him in weeeeks. :( Sad panda is me.
  • I have internet, at times. As aforementioned Dream Home is in the boonies, our only shot at high-speed internet is with an air card, which everyone in the house has to share. In actuality, this is probably for the better haha. No longer can I get away with days of nothing but computing.
  • Stayed with Paige at her and Jacob's place for a few days. Got to mingle with all the indie kids. Hit up the gay club, which was fabulous, as could only be expected. Plenty of dancing and the drag shows! Oh goodness. I tell you, nothing compares to a very large...lady, lipsynching to Paramore, after her wig's fallen off. LOL. We were accosted by some Christian men, which at first scared the absolute hell out of me and Paige. As a young woman, the last thing you want while leaving a club at one in the morning is for a middle aged man to come out of the shadows and start talking to you. Once he started asking whether we'd recently let Jesus Christ into out hearts, though, we just kind of laughed in relief and gave our politest "no thank you"s.
  • What I've read so far: Blackbeard and A Man Without a Country, both Vonnegut; The Picture of Dorian Gray, Wilde; 100 Ways America is Screwing Up the World, John Tirman. Currently reading: The Crying of Lot 49, Thomas Pynchon. I have a four-book-a-month-at-least goal for the summer. Brice has also assigned me plenty of Vonnegut, though I can't pick up my next batch until I see him...sometime this upcoming month.

Yay, summer! So, how is everyone? I seriously need to catch up on things.
