It's not a mess but I ain't happy either

Friday was D's birthday party. We had a great time, whipping up a bowl of chocolate POODING, making her birthday cake, then going out to see Night at the Museum (don't ask). It was a surprisingly decent movie for what it was (a kiddie flick). It's not something I'm going to rave about, but I wouldn't protest to watching it again. We stayed during the ending credits and had a gay (that's right, gay as in happy) time dancing through the aisles since we were the only people in the theater. Later, we played in the snow and I froze my butt off. Now that's how you ring in el quince anos, mi amiga.

Yesterday, I went to Manhattan to browse a great Steinway dealer my teacher recommended, but they were pretty pricey. The smallest were 37,000-41,000 bucks. My mom wants me to get a Yamaha instead. Even though I'm toying with the idea of demanding a Steinway or nothing, I know it's ludicrously selfish. So maybe I will have to settle for a Yamaha.

After escaping 42nd Street (think really REALLY pissed off cabbies and equally pissed off pedestrians), we shopped in Flushing aka Chinatown, where it was freezing cold. Blast, it was colder than up here. Everytime the wind hit, I felt like jumping into the Hudson Bay, but then again, that would be stupid because the water would, if possible, be much colder. Damnit, I'd sell my soul at this point for a modest condo in sunny Florida. If you're ever fixin' to jump, at least the water there is warm.

Counting the days until spring arrives...

chinatown, cold, steinway, winter, movies, manhattan, birthday parties
