Remodeling
After tearing the bathroom floor out three years ago, Erroll finally installed the new tile last weekend...so, while the toilet was out I have been installing bead board and new baseboards. I'm quite proud of myself for the job I've done...even mitering the corners of the baseboard. It looks pretty good if I do say so myself: :D
I needed to get the paint on before the toilet went back into place, so today I went to Warehouse Paints. I don't do white walls, but I also haven't been very bold about choosing colors, either. So today, I was brave and chose a color called "applesauce cake". I brought it home and opened the can and I swear they put cinnamon smell in it. It didn't smell like paint, it almost smelled like something baking, it was really weird. Maybe, I've been dieting too long (hardly).
Anyway, I got it all painted around the toilet and Erroll walked by the bathroom and remarked, "who smeared baby poop all over the bathroom walls?" (thanks honey) The good news is, that Tanner (my 12 year old) went in and loves it. He thinks it's awesome and has remarked on it several times tonight. (I hope this is a good thing)
Anyway, I am pleased, but I still have a lot to do before Heidi's graduation on the 5th of June.
More good news. For a change we've been getting money in the mail. We got a big check from the mortgage company...leftovers from an escrow account. We got another check on the way from a cancelled insurance policy and one more coming from a closed workers comp account, it took me two years of letters/phonecalls/faxes/etc. to show them that they owed us money and we didn't owe them the $900 they were claiming we owed them...YAHOO! So, I am taking the money and getting some things for the house and getting things done around the house I want done. Erroll has his motorcycle and the boat Kings tickets and all the other toys and I'm going to be selfish this time...I think I should stick some of it away for summer vacation too.
