So I suppose I've discovered that my relaxation/"I need to get my mind off things" therapy is to create a new background for my computer in Photoshop. Here's my lastest:
I saw this series in at the Musee d'Orsay in Paris and fell in love with it. Their presentation was similar to what I've done here. Four paintings of different color schemes side by side on an otherwise blank wall. It was great. Want to get me something for Christmas? A print of one of these would be nice :)
Monet painted 30-40 something of these usually starting them on site and then finishing them in the studio.
Here's a site with a lot of them shown The paintings in order from left to right are: "Rouen Cathedral, 1894"; "Rouen Cathedral (Symphony in Grey and Rose)"; "The Portal (Grey Weather)"; "Rouen Cathedral, 1894"
