It's a slightly belated House review!
My activities this week caused me to miss sitting down for House at its regularly scheduled time.
This episode gave Dr. Taub, the plastic surgeon, a chance to take the spotlight. We learned that he's prone to cheating on his wife. And we learned that he's pretty fearless, openly opposing Dr. House despite being shit out of luck if he didn't land the job at Princeton-Plainsboro.
We also said goodbye to Dr. Hotness. While the storyline involving House's inability to think straight because of her was kind of amusing, I didn't like how she went from projecting an air of confidence and reliability in her first appearance to being kind of a lightweight who got her widdle feewings hurt when House fired her. Did she get a brain disease between episodes?
I didn't have particularly high hopes for the film crew angle when I first saw the previews for the show, but I thought it worked out just fine. It gave House a chance to screw with them by hiding in places they couldn't go. It gave Dr. Wilson a chance to claim that House is a Wiccan. Dr. Cameron's embarrassing interactions with the camera were kind of funny, although I would have preferred to see her character progressing in her newly confident mode. And it provided for a great ending. The film crew's early cut of their documentary painted House as exceedingly dedicated and sympathetic ... and House couldn't stand it!
Wilson's question regarding Dr. Thirteen, "Pretty girl kill again?" was funny. And it was a nice callback. Another nice callback was Dr. Kutner working the defibrillation paddles. If only we could have seen him involved in another mishap!
