House threw me for a loop tonight.
Dr. Chase is fired. Then Dr. Cameron hands in her letter of resignation at the end of the episode. Given that Dr. Foreman was already on his way out, this means that Dr. House's entire team is gone. And we have all summer to wonder what is going to happen next.
I'm intrigued. Not as much as I would be if I thought the show was actually losing Chase, Cameron or Foreman, but I'm certainly intrigued. If I remember what I read correctly, we will be seeing all three returning next season, although one might be in a capacity other than as one of House's underlings. I just hope the show lets this process play out for a while. I was disappointed with how little time House had to enjoy being pain-free after the ketamine treatment he received before the beginning of this season. I'd like to see House presiding over a brand-new trio when the show starts up in the fall. Over the span of a handful of episodes, two of them could leave because of the stress, with one sticking around to provide the show with a shot of fresh blood.
I did like seeing House finally ask Foreman to stay. Of course, he didn't try the vulnerable strategy for long, did he?
We can, thankfully, bid adieu to Chase's begging-for-sex-on-Tuesday nonsense. It was nice of him to say that it was silly of him to do (although I certainly would have used a stronger word). I have to assume that Cameron is ready to move up from the impersonal sexual arrangement she had with him before.
I liked the shot where the cut to Cameron, miffed that she was being talked about as though she weren't in the room. And House's "Help! I'm trapped inside a monitor!" was worth a chuckle.
It would have been nice to discover what exactly linked House and the couple who risked life and limb to see him.
