Okay all, here are my fandoms (I apologize if some of these are too obscure or difficult -- good luck):
One phrase about each fandom. Guess which phrase is which fandom.
1) A situation of ceaseless conflict where even the closest of brothers fight to the finish; battles are won and lost, but the final destination of all but one is defeat. Super Smash Brothers Melee, as guessed by Anthony.
2) A pair of 'traders' who take matter into their own hands.
3) A tale of a thief who steals the heart of a jewel. Final Fantasy 9, as guessed by Jeremy. (The thief being Zidane and the jewel being Garnet.)
4) The story of a man who has a nice trip but forgets to fall. Twice. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, as guessed by Jeremy. Only one left!
5) Sparks fly when an adolescent first meets his new partner. Pokémon, as guessed by Anthony.
6) After three iterations, a massive new world is created. World of Warcraft, as guessed by Jeremy.
7) Proves that putting heart into your cards can fill the night with stars. Cardcaptor Sakura, as finally guessed by Jeremy.
8) A princely leader directs his ragtag group of 'bandits' against a secret alien invasion. Along the way, they form new alliances and shape the future of humanity. Animorphs, as guessed by Jeremy.
9) The tale of a young man who ultimately wields the power of time itself to reunite two worlds torn asunder. Tales of Symphonia, as guessed by Jordan. Go Jordan! ^_^
10) One of the first successful blends of cowboys, sci-fi, and the law, with a sprinkling of humor. Brisco County, Jr., as guessed by Jeremy. Props to him for answering correctly even before my new hint about it. ^^
Like I said, these are all fandoms. Some of them just not quite in the way you think. ~_^
Edit #1 (#1 as I'm sure there will be more): Props to Anthony for getting the first two correct answers. Looking back, I can see just how much some of these could easily be taken as other things. I will say that (7) is definitely not Yu-Gi-Oh!, tempted as I was to include it. (9) has nothing to do with The Legend of Zelda in any way, though I give credit to you, Anthony, for being creative. (10) is not an anime. If y'all have too much trouble with the current batch o' clues, I'll slightly edit some of them tomorrow. Final note this evening (probably): I have included several puns and/or plays-on-words in my clues; see if that helps.
Edit #2 (blimey you're quick!): Apparently my clarification for (10) was unnecessary, as by the time I finished and posted my first edit, a new comment from Jeremy had already been put up! (7) is still up for grabs, despite several good guesses. Four down, six to go!
