That's good to know--repairing our "beater" G4 laptop may cost more than its replacement value, so we might want to investigate the iPad in a year or so....

Just make sure you have a desktop or other laptop Mac around as well. Like the Air I think this iPad thing is a great mobile component, but will not replace ALL your computing needs.

There's a tax refund or quarterly bonus that has been earmarked for the iPad 3G. I've wanted a good slate like device for years and have been waiting for the boys at Apple to get one out. Now they have and it's better than I had hoped.
