Sweetness in Starlight....
Well, Julie updated and wanted me to update, so i figured i should. Nothing really exciting is going on here at cornerstone, i'm just spending alot of time working on schoolwork and interviewing for my leadership positions and scholarships for next year.
Since Julie was writing about what she's learned in devotions while reading "when God writes your love story" (which by the way is an awesome book and i highly suggest it) i thougth i'd do the same. Mine is a mix of sermon points/personal devotions and things from reading Captivating (which is also an amazing book and i suggest it next for you jules)
Lately i feel like everything in my life revolves around relationships, whether it be "romantic" or just my everyday friendships and encounters.. A couple of weeks ago when i was at church the pastor did a whole sermon about relationships and he had a quote that really got me thinking and it was:
"Sometimes when God wants to Bless you he brings in relationships that encourage you"
I was completly taken off gaurd by this comment, it made me thinks so much about Greece and meeting those people and thinking about how much individuals have encouraged me and i was thinking wow, God has blessed me so much... but this past week i was thinking about how i could have blessed people and i thought about my relationship with Jamin, how before his dad died he was going through so much and how i was there for him and i was thinking wow..God blessed him so much with me.. but then i was realized that that relationship actually blessed me too! Amazing how God works!!!
I have also learned by reading captiviating about beatuy and ofcourse relationships... how society has trashed beauty and what it means to be beautiful and how we just give ourselves to a guy who seems okay right now, when we should be wating for the guy God has given us... and in Captivating they gave this verse in Song of Songs (4:9)"You have stolen my heart, My sister, My bride, you have stolen my heart with one glance of your eyes" How awesome is that!! we need to wait for a guy like that! and there is one really out there that God knows is the one for us... and he's the guy who is going to tell you that!!
